The Hudson Valley is truly a beautiful place to
visit.
What you should do depends on what you like or perhaps – what you
need.
Perhaps you should get
a babysitter and visit one of several local day spas or arrange
for a massage? Or take a walk over the grounds at nearby
Clermont State Park, Montgomery Place or Olana – all
overlooking the Hudson River.

Twenty minutes drive would find you at
Lake
Taghkanic with a long
sandy beach where you can find a picnic site
and grill under shade
trees. We’ll set you up with snacks and a
blanket. While there, rent a
boat or a canoe if that tickles your
fancy. By then it will be time for a peaceful dinner outdoors... |
If
it’s activity you want, you can find plenty of opportunities to expend
energy! We’ll be sure to have plenty of literature
available from local tourism sites and an events calendar or two. Check out some of the websites listed below
before your
visit... |

If you have a refined palate, you'll be
happy to find yourself within easy driving distance of many, many fine
restaurants. This is partially due to luck and that the Hudson Valley
is home to the Culinary Institute of America. You might want to try
one of their five restaurants. |

The
Rhinebeck Fairgrounds has excellent activities to offer if you like
juried crafts shows, cars shows, and antique shows. Rhinebeck is also
well renowned for its excellent array of stores. If shopping is your
thing, Rhinebeck is a good destination point. Rhinebeck isn't the only
place to shop. If you are looking for something specific, we may be
able to direct you to a source. |

We occasionally have complimentary passes, ask.

Aficionados of fine music
performances should check out the new Richard B. Fisher
Center for the Performing Arts which is close to Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Pops, which
is an hour away.
Teens tend to love the bead stores in Red Hook and
Tivoli. You might want to catch the local bakeries: The Tivoli Bread
Shop in Tivoli; Terry’s Bake Shop in Red Hook; or Bread Alone in
Rhinebeck. You won’t be disappointed.
The Hudson Valley has an incredible amount of antique shopping
destination points including Hudson, Rhinebeck, Red Hook, and
Saugerties amongst others. Kingston has historical sites for children
including the Senate House and the Old Dutch Church but you might want
to see the new Tugboat Museum or any of a string of art galleries.
